(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Ryan Dobson, bestselling author, internationally sought-after speaker, and leading voice in modern donor development and philanthropic strategy at Dobson Philanthropic, recently published an opinion editorial on featured platforms, including Family Research Council’s The Washington Stand and Townhall.com, speaking to the American church and its quiet pews on the issue of anti-semitism.

Dobson states that “statistics alone cannot explain what is happening inside the American church. That concern is one of the reasons I joined Ronald Daw, executive producer, writer Andrew Klavan, and director Cyrus Nowrasteh in bringing “The Covenant,” a series centered on the Hebrew Scriptures, to life. Our hope is simple: to help modern audiences rediscover the Old Testament story that shaped the faith of Jesus and the early church.

Because something has gone wrong. That casual contempt reveals something deeper. We have become increasingly detached from the Old Testament. Many churches move quickly to the Gospels and Epistles while neglecting the Torah and the Prophets. The result is a generation of believers who love Jesus but have almost no understanding of the covenant story He stepped into and fulfilled.

When contempt for the Jewish people shows up among Christians, it exposes a theological problem before it exposes a political one.

The harshest words I heard in Israel didn’t come from terrorists. They came from Christians.”

Ronald Daw serves as Executive Producer of The Covenant. He previously served as the founding CFO of The Chosen and brings that experience into this exciting new project. “When I accepted the invitation to serve as the founding CFO of The Chosen, I had never worked on a film or television production before. Yet the experience became one of the most meaningful chapters of my life. I’m profoundly grateful for the trust the team placed in me and amazed by the global impact the series has had—far beyond anything I imagined.

That journey awakened a new calling in me: to create a series that brings the Old Testament to life in a way that resonates with modern audiences. This new project is not meant to replace the Bible, but to spark curiosity, deepen understanding by reading and studying this sacred text, and to encourage people to live its timeless truths.

One of the greatest lessons I carried forward from The Chosen is the incredible power of people coming together. Tens of thousands of individuals stepped up to financially support it. Those thousands became millions of viewers, and those millions became tens of millions. That kind of movement only happens when people believe in stories worth telling,” Daw stated.

The Covenant is based on Old Testament stories. It explores the dramatic characters and relationships of the Old Testament through the lens of families, faith, and the power of making and keeping covenants. The audience will see themselves in the struggles, setbacks, and successes of some of the greatest people of all time, like Abraham, Joseph, Elijah, Daniel, Moses, Ruth, and Esther. From patriarchs and prophets to saints and sinners, the audience will rediscover the oldest stories of all time in a way that’s true to every faith tradition.
