Dallas Theological Seminary Appoints Dr. April Moreton as Vice President of Advancement

April Moreton PhDDALLAS, TX — Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) has announced the appointment of Dr. April Moreton as Vice President of Advancement. She began serving in this role on January 20, 2026.

In this role, Dr. Moreton will lead all advancement and fundraising efforts for Dallas Theological Seminary and the Dallas Seminary Foundation. She will oversee annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, donor relations, foundation support, and advancement services. At an institution sustained by a hundred-year legacy of faithful donor support, the success of advancement strengthens every area of the seminary’s mission, including student scholarships, faculty support, and global theological education.

Dr. Moreton’s appointment comes at a significant moment in DTS’s history. With over 100 years of equipping students to proclaim God’s Word, DTS looks to the future, positioning for continued growth by expanding scholarship support and increasing global reach.

“The good Lord used the Seminary in a unique and instrumental way in my life,” said Dr. Moreton. “Sharing stories of how God is working and inviting others to give generously has been humbling and rewarding.”

Dr. Moreton brings more than twenty years of advancement leadership experience across higher education and mission-driven organizations. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of Advancement and Communications for The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM), providing strategic leadership for fundraising and communications in a global ministry context.

Previously, Dr. Moreton served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at the University of Northwestern–St. Paul and held senior advancement leadership roles at John Brown University, where she provided senior leadership for a $125 million capital campaign that was completed ahead of schedule and over goal. Her responsibilities spanned major and planned giving, alumni and parent relations, endowed scholarships, foundation and corporate relations, and advancement services.

Dr. Moreton has extensive experience leading major and comprehensive fundraising campaigns and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). She has also been actively involved in national advancement and nonprofit organizations supporting charitable giving, nonprofit sustainability, and Christian higher education.

Both Dr. Moreton and her husband are DTS alumni. Her return to the seminary reflects a deep personal connection to the institution’s mission and a shared commitment to equipping the next generation of servant-leaders for ministry.
