WILLS POINT, Texas — GFA World has launched a month-long campaign in March to fund life-saving “Jesus Wells,” providing safe drinking water to communities facing dangerous and contaminated water sources. Timed with World Water Day on March 22, the initiative aims to raise enough support to install 125 new wells in vulnerable communities.

Approximately 2.2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water, and nearly 829,000 deaths occur each year because of unsafe water, many of them preventable. A child dies from a waterborne illness every 90 seconds.

Through this campaign, GFA World is inviting supporters to help change that reality.

Each Jesus Well is designed to access reliable underground water sources, even during drought conditions. A single well can provide daily clean water for approximately 300 people and serves a community for up to 20 years.

Beyond addressing a critical physical need, each well also becomes a place where local communities gather and encounter compassion and care.

“Every well is a reminder that people are not forgotten,” said Bishop Daniel Timotheos Yohannan, President of GFA World. “It meets a life-threatening need while offering the opportunity for communities to experience the hope and love of Christ. Jesus told us that he is the “Living Water.” We hope that each cup of water that comes from these wells is a reminder that His source springs eternal, and offers a spiritual renewal that we all need as well.”

Since 2007, GFA World has helped drill more than 40,000 freshwater wells, bringing safe drinking water to over 39 million people through its clean water initiatives.
